About the event
A messy, magical muse date (almost) every Friday. 😘
Come paint and play with me and local artist, Marshall Erskine (aka Arthur). He'll share his wisdom and techniques as we explore our creativity together in an open art studio. This is not a "taught" course in painting, but rather an opportunity to work independently on your own paintings or mixed media projects in an encouraging, creative space.
Bring your own supplies (or a donation for materials) and come create what you like in an inspiring community where we share our art knowledge and stories of creative adventures.
There is no charge to join the open studio, but membership with Stichting Buurtwerkplaatsen is required.

About Stichting Buurtwerkplaatsen
Stichting Buurtwerkplaatsen is a unique foundation in Amsterdam where adults can make their own pieces of work and follow workshop courses in ten workshops. The Neighborhood Workshops are open from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you have a membership, you can (with sufficient experience ) use all workshops and work there freely.
The workshops are run by professional volunteers who use their experience with the craft to keep the space safe for everyone.
Membership for the use of the workshops costs € 22.00 per three months. You can register for this at the desk.
The Neighborhood Workshops were created in 1985 in the Staatsliedenbuurt. It's a place where 10 different crafts are practiced by the curious, beginners, and people who want to develop further. The workshops are traditionally and technically equipped: wood, welding, metal, ceramics, painting, goldsmiths, computer, screen printing, glass melting, stained glass/tiffany. Born at a time when squatting was still common and unemployment was just as high as the ideals about coexistence and society, the Neighborhood Workshops are firmly rooted in its still-existing vision: to be a place for everyone, to enrich life with learning. and practicing crafts. These roots can be felt in all our workshops: a little stubborn and open to anyone who feels at home in the authentic atmosphere of creative, technical, and artistic activity.
